The work of more expensive and bulkier punches is faster and easier. The tool can be used for overhead work to pre-punch rivet holes in suspended ceiling grids or for any edge application, making holes in window extrusions, metal ductwork, or sheet stock. The compound leverage mechanism provides a mechanical advantage of 8 to 1, requiring less effort with one hand. The spring-return handles allow for quick set-up and repetitive applications.

The tool is supplied with a 1/8-inch (3.2 mm) punch and die, pre-installed, as well as a 3/16-inch (4.8 mm) punch and die assembly. Separate punch and die assemblies are also available, including 3.6 mm, 4.1 mm, and 6.3 mm options. The tool steel punches and dies can be changed or replaced on the job.

A stop gauge permits tool throat depth adjustments from 1/4 to 1-1/8 inches (6.4 to 28.6 mm), enabling easy hole placement. The tool body consists of a lightweight, die-cast aluminum "C" frame head and hardened steel handles and parts stampings with a rust-resistant, nickel plating to ensure long service life.

The tool has a maximum capacity of 24 gauge for two layers. It features easily interchangeable 1/8-inch and 3/16-inch punches and dies, as well as a red vinyl cushion grip for added comfort and control. The compound handle leverage design provides a mechanical advantage, reducing the effort required for hole-making tasks.
